Consider asking for a room away from the back of the motel. The area can feel a bit unsettling with unsavory activity.

This hotel suited our needs in every way, would be happy to recommend. The venue was a great base for enjoying an interesting area, just next door to other venues. The location was exceptionally nice and stunning, within easy walking distance of Sugg House.
The staff we met were weird.

Affordable dog charge, strong shower pressure, unique character of the hotel
Housekeeping needs to step it up-finding stains and odors in rooms is just unacceptable!!! The noise from other guests can really ruin your peace. Perhaps soundproofing would help improve that experience!!!

Very rustic, not many amenities but good for the money. The staff were great and took care of any problems that arose.
Room was smelly and needed a little updating. Slats off the blinds, hot water, and the heater was not great but they did give us a wall heater that made it ok.

The room had a small refrigerator and a microwave. The bathroom was large. And the a/c worked fine. The room was clean and comfortable. I will use this Motel again.
The motel is older and shows some signs of wear and tear. Some of the repairwork was poorly done. I think this motel woild thrive again if it had a little tlc. Drapes on the window would be a nice inprovement. The vertical blinds were outdated.

The Gold Lodge beautifully blended vintage charm with modern touches. I appreciated the cozy feel and the lovely real flowers outside each room that added to the cute atmosphere .
Better cleaning in the bathrooms would enhance the experience.

i love that it's right across from the fairegrounds, and that breakfast is always very nice.
i wish the hot tub still worked and they had a bigger hot water heater, but that's mostly a faire problem because we all get back to the hotel at the same time.

The sheets were dirty...had not been changed from the previous people. No soap of any kind in the room. Cost was way too much for this lodge. The owners are trying to fix it up...but there is no excuse for this dirty sheets and no soap. We sleep with our clothes on and our sleeping bags. We should have gotten our money back but we had our grandkids with us and and they were tired. When booking a room I always look for the highest rating...Booked.net feld us on this on..

Rooms were clean, and the staff was friendly. A lovely spot to relax after busy days. Perfect location for outdoor activities and rest! Would recommend for group trips.
We did notice some noise from the rooms nearby. It could get a bit loud in the evenings when people were socializing.

Nothing. The place was dirty and there was a huge fight amoung staff and an older women while we stayed there...cops were involved. I have two babies in diapers and it was very uncomfortable.
No soap, dirty sheets, dirty carpet, hard beds, weird air system, lack of space....should I say more. Your better off at motel 6!

It was not a comfortable stay. Would not recommend to friends and families. On their web site, i does not mention that the spa and pool are out of order. The room was very dirty, had bed bugs and flies. The bedsheet felt used n dirty on the first night. Second day it was changed. Room was cleaned only 1 day out of the 3 nights we stayed there. Walls are very thin. The only thing good bout the hotel was its location.

The cozy, vintage charm of the Gold Lodge really warmed my heart! I loved the beautifully retextured walls and the lovely real flowers outside that added a touch of nature. It really felt cute for me and my family.
Better cleaning in the bathrooms would be appreciated.

The lodge was on our trip. Forniture were very old and rooms had terrible smell. Pool and hot tub were out of order. Wifi didn't work in the room and breakfast were only milk and coffee. Too expensive. Il lodge era sul nostro tragitto ma non ha rispettato quanto promesso. Wifi piscina non disponibili e la colazione era veramente inesistente. Camere vecchissime con condizionatore molto rumoroso, troppo, troppo costoso per quanto offriva.
The lodge were on our trip beetwen yosemite park and san francisco. It very close to the town of Sonora, a tipical old californian town with a lot of lodges and shops
